General Questions
What does my monthly subscription include?
Each month your child will receive one hand-selected, hard-cover, beautifully written and illustrated Spanish book that is sourced directly from Latin America and Spain from small hard-to-find publishing houses. Each book is wrapped up like a present with the name of the child hand-stamped on the wrapping paper. On the back cover of each book, we've included a QR code so that every child (or adult) can quickly and easily access audio and video content. Our video content is unique and features our founder Pablo (also known as the "laughing latino") narrating each book. We promise it will be an enjoyable experience.
When will I receive my first box?
It depends on when you placed your order. All orders placed before the 23rd of each month will arrive in the first days of the next month. Orders before the 8th each month will arrive the next half of the same month. From then on, you will receive your monthly Spanish Book Box in the first few days of each month. We include free shipping in all of our orders.
It seems like the first box won't arrive for a few weeks, is there any way to get it faster?
The short answer, of course. If for any reason you want your first box faster (the holidays, ahem), we would be happy to work with our shipping providers to rush your order for an additional charge. We will do our best to accommodate all requests. We include free shipping in all orders as our gift to you. When orders are rushed, cost goes up very quickly. With that said, if you'd like anything shipped out faster or rushed, it would be at an additional cost to you. Please inquire at hola@spanishbookbox.com.

How do you choose the monthly books?
Thank you for asking. We personally review hundreds of books each month written by talented authors from different cultures who have focused their careers on a multi-culturally balanced children's world. We try to meet with them (virtually), discuss learning experiences that also reflect parts of their own childhood to try to understand the journey of how each book came to be. We are thoughtful about each book and take a lot of pride in our selection process.
What is a QR code and why should I care?
We wanted to provide audio and video content that would be easy to access without having to login or remember a password. We created QR stickers and placed them on the back cover of each book. A QR code is short for a "quick response code" that is quickly readable by a cell phone. Open your cellphone camera and hover it over the QR code and your phone will automatically be directed to the video and audio content we created for each story.
I don't speak any Spanish, why would I order?
Perhaps your child takes Spanish in school or you want your child to be exposed to another language early on. The goal of Spanish Book Box is to raise global citizens who are exposed to different languages and cultures early in life. Children love books, even when they can't understand every word. Use the illustrations and the origin of the book to raise a conscious child who understands that the World is bigger than just the US. Each book is like a trip to a new place and will spark intrigue of the larger World... and maybe, just maybe, your child will pick up a few Spanish words along the way.
If I have two kids, should I order two subscriptions?
That's up to you! Each subscription comes with a wrapped book and personalized with your child's name. If you do order two subscriptions for the same household, we can also ensure that each child gets a different book (if you'd like). If you'd like both books to come in one shipment, we'll get creative and find a way, email us at hola@spanishbookbox.com.

What if I want to order more copies of one of the monthly books, is that possible?
Depending on which book and the quantities, it could take a little time (anywhere from a few weeks to a few months) since we thoughtfully source each book directly from its origin in Latin America and Spain. Inquire at hola@spanishbookbox.com

Is my credit card info secure?
We use Squarespace to host our website and process all orders, all personal and financial Information is collected over a secure SSL communication channel with encryption. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is included at no cost on all orders.
When do you charge my credit card?
Regardless of the subscription you choose, your credit card will be charged monthly when your order ships.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Where do you ship from?
We ship directly from our headquarters in San Francisco, CA.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have two subscription options-- monthly and annually. Both charge you on a monthly basis, the only difference is that when you opt for the annual membership you are making a commitment for 12 months. If you choose the monthly option, feel free to cancel anytime. If you choose the annual membership, you are able to cancel after the 12 months are up.
Month-to-month subscriptions (without term commitment) can be canceled at any time in your account settings page. If you’ve already been billed for this month’s box, your cancellation will take effect in the next billing cycle.
Your annual subscription plans (12 months) cannot be canceled mid-term, you are getting better pricing every month in exchange for an annual commitment. For any questions don't hesitate to reach out to hola@spanishbookbox.com.
What is your return policy?
Since we source all of our books from Latin America and Spain and personalize every single monthly box, we don't accept returns.
How do I change my shipping address?

Gifting & Registry
What is gifting?
Whether it be for a birthday, a baby shower, or the upcoming holidays, Spanish Book Box is the perfect gift. We offer two gift options, a 2 month subscription for $50 or a 4 month subscription for $100. If you have another gift option in mind, we will do our best to go above and beyond and make your gifting wishes come true. We want to add joy to the World during these difficult and unprecedented times.
I was gifted Spanish Book Box, when will I receive it?
It depends when your (very generous) friend purchased it. If purchased before the 23rd of each month, it will arrive around in the first days of the next month. Orders made before the 8th each month will arrive in the next half of the same month. After your first box, you will get your monthly box the first week of every month for the duration of the gift. How is the person receiving the gift notified?
You tell us—send us an email at hola@spanishbookbox.com The default is a handwritten note from our founders in their first box with whatever gift note is provided upon checkout. What a special thing that you are trusting us to give Spanish Book Box as a gift, we are happy to accommodate any special requests.
